On pttm i have it set at 800x600 16 at 60 it runs slow it pauses every 10 feet. let me explan that better. When your driving you move ten feet then the game freezes for a second or two then returns to moving you move 10 more feet and it pauses again. Help? Ideas?

On ET when you start the game by clicking the Icon on the desktop it pops up with the games of the month box and when you click play a script blocking thing comes up and says this scipt my be harmful to you? I'll update this with better info when my wifi works on my laptop with the games on it.

Any help is greatly app.

If this is in the wrong place please move it.

Not to be a bear of bad news, but your first problem is centered around the word "laptop." Unless you dropped the money for a high-end HP, Dell, or an Alien, chances are your specs aren't really that great, which is why we'll start there. Post your specs please. In regards to the ET issue, sounds like either a Windows message or an overeager antivirus program. Try disabling (only temporarily!!) your AV protection software the next time you go to play ET and see if it lets you open it.

KK will try those ideas and I'm not sure what you call "good money" but I call $3400 pretty damn good.

You can pay $3400 for one of Pamela Anderson's implants, so $3400 doesn't mean jack.

We need your SPECS to get to the root of the problem!

-Processor name/speed (can be found by right-clicking My Computer and selecting Properties)
-amount of RAM (found on Properties page also)
-Video card name/amount of vRAM (easiest way is to go to Start-Run and type in "dxdiag" without quotes. Click on the Display tab and it will display all your card info)

btw if you or your parents dropped $3400 dollars for a computer that runs as crappy as you're describing, then you seriously got took.

I would say they paid more like $340 not $3400.  It doesn't sound like it has much of a processor or graphics card in it.

Note that unless its a dual core CPU and video card of the last top 3 series of Nividia or ATI (Intel Graphics Suck) then you shouldn't try to run 3d games on it.

ET Demo:

Have you tried redownloading the demo, uninstalling the current one and installing the redownloaded one? That may help if the first one you downloaded was corrupted somehow.

Haulin:

Have you installed any mods recently? Sometimes when mods conflict or don't work they'll freeze up the game.

yes i redownloaded demo, updated directX and my graphics drivers. same problem

haulin: removed all mods, same crash. EDIT: now working :

downloaded american long haul demo and the john deere demo, they work fine. I think if i reinstalled Haulin, it would work but i no longer have my activation code.

i also tried ETS, gets to the main menu just fine, i click new game, loads to about 80% then crashes to desktop.

is the unreliableness common to Valuesoft?

haha nice emphasis on "value"

I've never had any problems with bone-stock (no mods) installations of Haulin, PTTM, or ALH.  Never tried ETS. I'm confused as to what could be going on.
